If you know Karol Bagh then you know how crazy Naiwala can get on a Monday morning. Our shop is at 1538/29 and it’s packed from floor to ceiling with boxes. We mostly deal with automobile parts and there is hardly any space to walk once the new stock arrives. The shelves are a bit crooked because they’ve been holding heavy metal parts for years. We spend a lot of our time climbing up and down ladders to find specific bolts or gears that someone is looking for. The air smells like rubber and new metal most of the time. It’s a very busy street so there’s always a lot of shouting and horns honking right outside the door. We don't have a fancy computer system to track everything so we mostly just remember where things are. It’s a bit chaotic but it’s our version of organized. We’ve been at 1538/29 for a long time and the other shop owners nearby are like family to us. We usually eat our lunch on a small wooden table in the back while watching the crowds go by. It’s not a quiet life but it’s what we know. People come from all over the city to Naiwala for parts and we just try to have what they need sitting on a shelf somewhere. It’s a dusty old shop but it’s got everything we need.
