Visual Communications

We have been working out of the Akash Deep Building for a while now. It sits right on Barakhamba Road, which most people know is one of the busiest spots near Connaught Place. Getting to the office involves navigating the crowd near the metro station and then heading down Barakhamba Lane. The building itself is an older one, but it has its own character. Inside Visual Communications, things are pretty straightforward. We have desks cluttered with papers and a few computers that have seen better days. The windows look out over the street, so there is always a bit of city noise coming through, but we got used to that a long time ago. Most mornings start with a cup of tea from the stall downstairs while we wait for the computers to boot up. It isn’t a fancy corporate setup with glass walls or anything like that. It is just a regular workspace where we spend our eight or nine hours a day. Sometimes the lift acts up, so we end up taking the stairs, which is quite a workout. We know the guards and the other people who work in the building by name because we see them every single day. The office feels lived-in, with various folders and boxes stacked in the corners. We don't really bother with decorating much because we are too busy keeping up with the daily tasks. It is just how things are in this part of Delhi.
