If you have ever been to Ajmeri Gate, then you already know how crowded it gets at all hours. We are at 3984/85, right in the thick of all that movement. It is an old building, like most of the things around here, with high ceilings and walls that have seen a whole lot of years. The noise from the street is constant with rickshaws, carts, and people looking for specific parts. We spend our days surrounded by metal and heavy equipment parts. It gets a bit oily sometimes, and there is always that smell of iron and grease in the air that never really goes away. We do not have much in the way of decoration in the shop. There are just some old calendars on the wall and rows of shelves that go all the way up to the ceiling. Finding something specific usually involves getting out a ladder and doing a bit of a search through the bins. We have been at this spot for a long time, so the local tea sellers and the other shopkeepers are all very familiar to us. It gets dusty inside, so we spend a good chunk of every morning just wiping things down before the first person walks in. The light is not great in the back, but we have enough lamps over the work areas to see what we are doing. It is just a practical, working shop.
