Standard Meat Chicken & Fish Shop is located right in the heart of the busy Tank Road area in Karol Bagh, at E16/1285. We have been here for quite a long time, serving the people who live and work around here. The shop is always a bit wet because we are constantly cleaning the fish and the meat. It is a noisy place, especially with the sounds of the market and the customers calling out their orders. We do not have any air conditioning or fancy decor, just our cutting blocks, the scales, and the ice to keep everything fresh. Most of the day is spent preparing the different cuts that people ask for. Some want whole chickens, others are looking for specific types of fish. It is a lot of manual work and our hands are rarely dry. We start early to get a good pick from the wholesalers and then we stay open until the evening rush is over. The Tank Road area is always packed with people, so there is never a dull moment. We have a few regulars who have been coming to us for years, and we know exactly what they like. It is a tough job, standing on your feet all day and dealing with the smells and the mess, but it is what we know. We just focus on keeping the shop running and making sure the stock is fresh every day. There is no other way to do it.
