About Sir Ganga Ram Hospital – Medical & Healthcare in Central Delhi
Up here on the fourth floor of the SSRB building, things stay pretty busy. We are part of the critical care and emergency department at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. Most days, you just see people rushing through the halls or waiting for news. It’s a lot to handle sometimes. The elevators take a while, especially during the shift changes in the morning and evening. We spend most of our time checking monitors and making sure everything is where it needs to be. It’s not a quiet place, but that’s just how it is in emergency medicine. People come in from all over. Sometimes the tea man comes around and that’s a small break in the middle of a long day. We have been in this spot for a while now. The fourth floor has its own rhythm. You get used to the sounds of the machines and the hushed talking in the corridors. Outside the windows, you can see a bit of the city, but we don’t look out much. There is always paperwork to finish or someone needing a hand with something. It’s just work, really. We show up, do what needs doing, and then head home. The department stays open all the time, so the lights never really go off. It feels different at night when the rest of the hospital slows down a bit. We just keep things moving here at the SSRB. It’s a tough job but we’re used to it.
