Sir Ganga Ram Hospital

Working in the Casualty Block at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital is definitely something else. I’m usually over in Pvt.OPD Room No F 31 on the first floor. It’s a specific kind of busy here that you don’t really find in other parts of the building. You hear the sirens outside and the constant shuffling of feet in the hallway. My desk is tucked away in the corner of the Casualty Block, right in the heart of the Casualty Block, and it's piled with files most of the time. We don’t really have time for big speeches about what we do. It’s mostly just quick conversations and trying to stay organized while things move fast around us. The walls are that standard hospital off-white, and the lights hum a little bit if you listen closely. It’s a practical place. We focus on the tasks right in front of us, whether it’s checking a name or calling a nurse. Sometimes I bring my own tea because the machine down the hall is hit or miss. The people who come through that door are often in a hurry or a bit stressed, so we just try to be a calm presence without overcomplicating things. It isn’t a glamorous job, and the hours can get long, but it feels real. We see the raw side of things every single day. By the time my shift ends, I’m pretty tired, but I’ll be back at the same desk tomorrow morning doing it all again. It's just the way life goes here.
