The Sant Parmanad Hospital at 18 Sham Nath Marg has been a fixture on this street for a long time. If you’re coming from Alipur Road, you’ll see our sign as you turn into Civil Lines. It’s an old area with big trees and a bit of history in the walls. Our day usually starts pretty early, well before the traffic on Sham Nath Marg really picks up. The security guards are usually the first ones here, opening up the gates and greeting the nurses coming off the night shift. It’s not a quiet place, but it’s not overly loud either, unless there is construction happening down the road. Inside, things are fairly straightforward. We have the different departments spread out, and we try to keep the signs clear so people don't get lost, though it still happens. The building has its quirks, like that one window in the canteen that won't stay open on its own. We just use a piece of wood to prop it up. It’s these little things that make the place feel real. Most people come here because they live in the north part of the city and it’s convenient. We don't spend much time worrying about being flashy. We just focus on the work that needs doing. When the sun goes down, the street gets a bit quieter, and we hand over the shift to the night crew. It’s a cycle that repeats every single day.
