N C Joshi Memoriel Hospital

This hospital sits right across from Ajmal Khan Park in Karol Bagh. It’s a very central spot, so there is always a lot of activity outside. People are always walking their dogs or exercising in the park, and then you have the heavy market traffic nearby. Our building has been here for years. It’s seen a lot of changes in Karol Bagh over the decades. Inside, things are pretty much what you’d expect from a busy hospital. We have long hallways, various departments, and a lot of people waiting their turn. It’s a bit of a maze if you aren't used to it. The staff knows every corner, though. We spend our days dealing with a lot of different cases. It’s a practical place. We don’t have those fancy coffee machines or plush carpets you find in corporate offices. We have sturdy chairs and linoleum floors that are easy to mop. The noise from the street carries in sometimes, but we’re used to it by now. It feels like a real part of the neighborhood. We work in shifts, so the hospital never really sleeps. There’s always someone at the desk. We just try to keep things organized and help the people who come in. Karol Bagh is a tough place to park, so many of us just take the metro or walk to work. It’s just our daily life here.
