Larsen & Toubro Limited

Old Rajinder Nagar is a hectic place, and our office at 19/45 is right in the thick of it. It’s an area full of students and small shops, so the energy is always high. The building is one of those typical Delhi structures where every inch of space is used. We’ve got two rooms on one of the floors. The main room is where most of the desks are, and the smaller one is filled with blueprints and old ledgers. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons because the sun hits our side of the building directly. We have some heavy curtains to block it out, but it’s still a struggle for the old AC unit. The stairs are steep, and there’s no lift, so we all get a bit of a workout every time we come and go. We don’t have a fancy meeting room. If someone needs to talk, we just pull up a chair at someone’s desk. The street outside is always packed with parked bikes and people grabbing a quick bite at the stalls. We usually order some tea and samosas if we have a long afternoon ahead. It’s a functional space for us. We don’t worry about how it looks to outsiders because we’re too busy keeping up with the project deadlines. It’s just a small slice of Larsen & Toubro Limited in a very busy part of the capital. We've been here long enough that the local shopkeepers know our names.
