Hindu Rao Hospital

Working in the Dept Of Medicine at Hindu Rao Hospital means you get used to the smell of disinfectant and the sound of constant chatter very quickly. It is one of the busiest spots in the whole building. Every morning starts with the same routine of checking the beds and making sure the medicine trolleys are stocked up. We don’t really have time for long breaks, so most of us just grab a quick tea in the hallway when we can. The wards are usually full, and there is a lot of back and forth between the labs and the main office. It is a very practical place. We don’t have fancy decorations on the walls, just the stuff we need to do our jobs. The fans overhead hum all day long, trying to keep the air moving. You see all sorts of people walking through these doors, mostly locals who have been coming to Hindu Rao for generations. It’s a bit of a maze if you aren't used to it, with all the different wings and sections. We just focus on the patients and the charts, making sure everything is written down correctly. It gets exhausting after a long shift, but that is just part of being in the medicine department. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing every single day.
