Hakim Shyam Lal Goel (Charitable Hospital)

Our hospital is located in the Jawahar Nagar area, specifically on Jawahar Nagar Road near Kamla Nagar and Malika Ganj. It’s a very old and busy part of Delhi, and the roads are often packed with vehicles and people heading to the markets nearby. We operate as a charitable hospital, which means things are kept very simple and humble here. The building has been around for quite a long time, and you can see that in the architecture and the way the rooms are laid out. It’s not a modern glass building; it’s a functional space where the focus is on the people who come in. We see many patients who travel from quite far away because they know we are here to help. The hallways are usually full, and there is a lot of movement throughout the day. I usually spend my time making sure the registers are updated and that people know where they are going. The fans are always running to keep the air moving, and there is a specific smell of medicine and old paper that lingers in the air. Being in the 110007 area, we are right in the heart of a lot of activity. We don't have any flashy signs or big advertisements. Most people know us through the community. It’s a lot of work to keep a charitable place running, but it’s what we do every single day without much fuss or fanfare. We just open the doors early and stay until the last person is seen.
