We spend our time between the office in Daryaganj and the one in Laxminagar. Taxation is a lot of paperwork and it never really stops. Every day is just looking at forms, checking numbers, and trying to keep up with whatever the new government rules are. People come to us when they are worried about their filings or when they don't understand the math. It is mostly just sitting at a desk with a lot of files piled up. Daryaganj is always crowded, so getting there in the morning is a task. Laxminagar is the same way, just constant noise outside while we try to focus on the screens. We don't use big words or try to act like we know everything, we just do the work that needs doing. Sometimes the clients are frustrated because of the deadlines, but we just take it one folder at a time. It is a lot of repetitive stuff, clicking through portals and making sure the GST is right. We have some tea, talk about the weather, and then get back to the spreadsheets. It is not exciting work, but it is necessary for everyone running a business or earning a salary. We keep our records in order and try to answer the phone whenever it rings. It is just a small team of us handling the accounts for local folks who need a bit of help with their taxes.
