British Motor Car Company (1934) Ltd has been around for a very long time. We are situated in Anand Parbat, specifically in the Upper Anand Parbat area. It’s a bit of a climb to get up here, and the roads can be quite rough on the vehicles. The name sounds very formal because of the history dating back to 1934, but we are just a group of people working on cars and engines. The building is old and has a lot of character, though it’s definitely showing its age in some spots. We have some very old machinery that still works better than the new stuff we see today. It’s usually quite loud here with the sound of metal hitting metal and engines revving up. We don’t do things in a rush. If a job takes three days to do right, then it takes three days. Most of our regulars have been coming to us for decades, sometimes bringing the same cars their fathers used to drive years ago. There’s a lot of dust that comes in from the street, so we are always wiping things down. We don’t have a fancy waiting room with a television or anything like that. If you come by to see us, you’ll probably find us with our sleeves rolled up and grease on our faces. It’s a steady pace of life. We like the history of the place.
