If you stand outside Bl Kapoor Hospital on Pusa Road, you can watch the trains go by at the Rajendra Nagar Metro Station right across the street. It’s a very noisy part of town, with the metro announcements and the constant honking of cars on Pusa Road. The hospital is a big, imposing building that’s been a landmark here for a long time. Inside, it’s a bit of a maze if you aren't used to it. We have different wings and floors for everything you can think of. The lobby is almost always crowded with families sitting on the benches or checking the boards. Our staff spends most of the day on their feet, moving between rooms and trying to keep the schedule moving. It’s a high-energy environment because there’s always something happening. We have a lot of different departments, so you see all kinds of doctors and nurses rushing around in their scrubs. Lunch breaks are usually quick, eaten in the basement canteen or at one of the small stalls outside if there’s time. We don't spend much time worrying about how the place looks to outsiders; we are more focused on the charts and the patients in the beds. It’s a busy life working at a major city hospital, and the day usually ends long after the sun has gone down over the metro tracks.
