Laxmi Medical Stores

The shop is right here on Main Road in Shegaon, very close to the bus stand. If you’ve been to Buldhana, you probably know how busy this area gets with people coming and going from the buses all day. We’ve been at Laxmi Medical Stores for a while now. Most mornings start with unlocking the shutters and dusting off the counters before the first rush happens. It’s a lot of standing around and checking boxes, making sure everything is where it should be on the shelves. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy with the traffic outside, but you get used to it after a week or two. We spend most of our time looking for specific strips of medicine or talking to the regulars who stop by on their way home. It’s not a fancy place, just a regular store with a lot of drawers and a fan that squeaks a little when it’s on high. My cousin helps out in the afternoons when things get hectic. We usually eat lunch in the back room between customers. It’s a simple life, really. We just try to keep the stock updated so people don’t have to go looking elsewhere. The weather in Shegaon can be quite hot in the summer, so we keep some cold water for ourselves behind the counter. That is pretty much how things go here every single day from morning until we close up at night.
