Our office is located at 598, Gujjar Basti in the Galander area of Pampore. If you know anything about Pampore, you know it’s all about the saffron. We are a group of farmers who grow those little purple flowers. Saffron is a delicate thing, and it takes a huge amount of work just to get a small amount of the spice. We decided to form this company so we could help each other with the processing and the selling part. Usually, every family does it on their own, but that gets overwhelming. Being part of Pampore Saffron Farmers Producer Company Limited makes it a bit more manageable for everyone in our corner of Gujjar Basti. We aren't some big industrial setup. We’re the same people you see out in the fields during the short blooming season in autumn. It’s a lot of bending over and careful picking by hand. We don't have time for fancy talk or corporate strategies. We just focus on the harvest and making sure the quality stays where it should be. It’s a tradition for us, but it’s also how we pay the bills. We're just local farmers trying to keep the saffron business going for the next generation. It’s hard work, but it’s ours, and we take pride in doing it without any shortcuts. That's just how we do things here in Pampore.
