Seven Sister Eco-Organic Llp

We’re over in Nathkuchi 2, not far from the Assam Syntex post office. It’s a quiet corner of Tihu where things move a bit slower. Seven Sister Eco-Organic Llp started because we wanted to do things a bit differently with the land we have. We don't use a lot of the heavy chemicals or stuff some other places use. It’s more about natural growth here, even if it takes longer. The soil in this part of Assam is actually pretty good if you treat it right and give it time. We spend a lot of time weeding and checking the plants by hand. It’s slow work and your back definitely feels it by the end of the day. There are just a few of us who handle the daily tasks. We aren't a big company with a lot of bosses and meetings. We just talk over tea in the mornings and decide what needs doing for the week. Sometimes the bugs are a real problem, and since we try to stay eco-friendly, we have to find other ways to deal with them. It’s a lot of learning as we go, failing sometimes and trying again. The local market in Tihu is where we see most people and hear the local news. We’ve lived here all our lives, so the neighbors are all friends and family. We don’t have a website or any of that. Just this small operation in Nathkuchi. It’s peaceful work for the most part. We like seeing things grow from nothing. It makes the long hours in the sun feel worth it.
