Mahabahu Agroforestry Industry Llp is based in the village of Bekijan, in the Khatarbari area. We are located near the local L.P. School, which is a good landmark for anyone trying to find us. Our office is at Shiva Sarmah’s house in the Baranagabari post office circle, under the Gohpur police station. We work with both trees and crops, which is what agroforestry is all about. It’s a bit different from just regular farming. We spend a lot of time outside in the dirt and among the trees. Being in a village like Bekijan means we are right where the action is. We don't need a fancy office building when the forest and the fields are right there. It’s a small operation. We don't have any big corporate slogans. We just like growing things and seeing them thrive. Sometimes the rain makes the roads to Gohpur a bit of a mess, but we manage. We’ve been part of this community for a while. Most of what we do is just common sense and hard work. We talk to the other villagers and share what we know about the trees. It’s a quiet life for the most part, but it keeps us busy. We just want to keep doing our work here in the Khatarbari area and see the land stay productive for everyone. It is not about making millions, just about keeping the land healthy.
