Steel Bricks

Our business, Steel Bricks, is based in the village of Khara Sinpur. We fall under the Katigram post office and the Mollarpur police station area. It’s a bit of a drive out here, but we have plenty of space for our operations. We use the traditional methods for making bricks that have been around for a long time. The earth here is good for making strong bricks that last. We spend our days digging, mixing, and stacking. It’s a lot of manual labor and we stay pretty tired by the end of the week. We don't have any fancy brochures or big advertisements. Most people hear about us from their neighbors or see our trucks moving through Mollarpur. We try to keep our prices fair so the local families can afford to build their homes. The weather is our biggest challenge. Too much rain and we have to stop everything until the ground dries out. When the sun is shining, we are at it from early morning. We just have a small office where we keep our records and meet with customers. It’s a basic setup but it works for us. We are just local people making a product that helps the community grow bit by bit. My family has been in this area for generations and we know how the local soil works. It is hard but good work for us. We like the village life.
