Raj Steel

We run Raj Steel over in Barnagar. Our shop is on Shantiniketan Road, not too far from the LIC office. It’s a good spot because people know the landmark. Working with steel is what we do every day. It’s heavy and sometimes it’s loud, but it is what it is. We have a small yard where we keep the materials. It isn't the cleanest place in the world, as steel dust and scrap tend to pile up, but we clean it when we can. We are just local people trying to make a living. We don't use big words or try to act like we are some huge company. We just take orders and get the metal ready for whoever needs it. Some days the road is busy with people going to the LIC office, and they stop in to ask questions. We try to be helpful. It’s a straightforward business. No fancy offices or air conditioning for us, just the workshop and the tools. We’ve been on Shantiniketan Road for a while now and the neighbors know us. We start early and usually finish up when the sun goes down. There’s always something to cut or weld. It’s a bit repetitive sometimes, but we like the physical nature of the work. We just do our best to stay busy and keep the steel moving out the door to the customers who need it. It’s hard work, but we find it rewarding enough at the end of the day.
