Shiva Steel

You can find Shiva Steel down by Shiv Ghat in Lodhipara. We are right on Ratanpur Road in the Sarkanda area of Bilaspur. The Hanuman Temple is very close to us, so we hear the temple bells ringing every morning and evening. It’s a nice sound to work to. Our yard is full of steel, and it’s usually quite a mess of pipes, angles, and bars. We try to keep it organized, but when a new truck arrives, everything just ends up in piles again. The ground is mostly dirt and gravel, which gets hot in the summer. We spend our days measuring out metal and helping people load their carts or trucks. It’s heavy, dirty work, and our clothes are usually stained with rust by lunchtime. We don't have any air conditioning, just the breeze coming off the road and a few noisy fans. Most of the people who come here are builders or local folks fixing up their houses. We chat with them about their projects while we cut the steel to the right size. It’s not a fancy life, and the office is just a small room with a wooden table and a few plastic chairs. We keep things simple and just focus on getting the orders right for the people who come by. When the sun goes down behind the temple, we start cleaning up and locking the gates for the night.
