Arora Steel

If you are driving down Mopka Main Road, you will see us right across from the Sita Devi petrol pump. Arora Steel is basically just a big yard full of metal. Most of our days are spent watching the cars go by and waiting for the next truck to pull in. Dealing with steel is heavy work, and you definitely feel it in your back by the time evening rolls around. We have all kinds of stuff here, from long rods to flat sheets that we stack up high. It’s not a quiet place because of all the clanging when we move things around. The petrol pump across the way is a good landmark because everyone knows where that is. We get a lot of local contractors coming in, usually in a hurry because their job site is waiting on materials. We try to keep up with what people need, but sometimes the supply is a bit unpredictable. We just do our bit here in Mopka, keeping the place running and making sure the piles stay somewhat orderly. Rain is the biggest pain for us since we have to make sure things don't get too much rust on them. It’s a basic operation, no fluff or anything like that. Just some guys moving steel from one place to another and trying to stay out of the hot sun when we can. It’s what we know how to do, so we just keep at it day after day without much fuss.
