Khagaul is a bit of a distance from the main center of Patna, and that is where you will find this school. We have both the matriculation and the higher secondary classes here. The school has been part of the Khagaul community for a long time now. It’s an old-fashioned sort of building with wide corridors and high ceilings in some parts. Every morning, the street gets filled with bicycles and rickshaws bringing the kids in. I work in the staff room mostly, keeping track of the schedules and the student files. It’s a lot of paper and ink. We don't really go for any of that modern corporate talk; we just teach the lessons that are in the syllabus. The playground is where the kids spend their energy, and it can get quite dusty during the dry season. We have a few old fans in the classrooms that rattle a bit, but they do the job of keeping the air moving when it gets humid. It’s a friendly place where most of the teachers have known the parents since they were kids themselves. We don't have a fancy website or anything like that. People just know us because we’ve been here on the same street for decades. It is a simple school for local families who want their children to finish their studies without having to travel too far into the city. We just take things one day at a time.
