16/15 Pugal Road is where we are located in Bikaner. It’s a dusty part of town, especially when the wind picks up. Our school has a bit of a grand name, but the reality is just a simple building with classrooms. The courtyard is where the students gather in the morning. We have some benches out there that get quite hot in the Bikaner sun. Inside, the air is a bit cooler. The teachers use a lot of chalk, so there’s always a bit of white dust on the floor near the boards. We have a small office near the main door where we keep the registers and the bell. The bell is a heavy metal piece that someone has to hit with a hammer every hour. It’s a very manual process. We don't have air conditioning, just ceiling fans that hum all day. The students bring their own water bottles and tiffin boxes. You’ll see them sitting in groups during the break. The 334001 area is quiet enough for us to work without too much distraction. We’ve got some cupboards full of old maps and charts that we pull out for lessons. It’s just a regular school where people come to learn and then head home. No one here is trying to be fancy. We just keep the place running as best as we can. Our days start early before the heat gets too bad.
