Pawan Hotel

We’ve been running Pawan Hotel out here on National Highway-11 in Bikaner for quite a bit now. It’s a busy spot because of the highway traffic. Most people just stop by because they are tired from driving. Dongargarh is a quiet enough place except for the trucks and cars zooming by all day and night. We try to keep things simple here. My family helps out with most of the work because hiring a lot of staff is expensive and hard to manage. Usually, in the mornings, we are busy cleaning the rooms and making sure there is water and everything for whoever stops. Bikaner gets really hot in the summer, so we spend a lot of time just trying to stay cool in the shade. It’s not a big fancy building, just a regular place to stay if you’re passing through. Sometimes the desert wind blows a lot of sand onto the porch, so we’re always sweeping. It’s mostly just hard work and long hours. We see all kinds of people, from truck drivers to families going on vacation. It’s interesting to talk to them sometimes when things are slow. We don't have a big office or anything like that. I usually sit near the front desk or help in the kitchen if needed. It’s just how we live. We’ve gotten used to the noise of the highway after all these years. It is basically our home now.
