Ishawar Steel Traders

Down here in Nakhatrana, right near the workshop, is where Ishawar Steel Traders is located. We are in the Kutch district, which means we deal with a lot of wind and dust most days. The yard is where we keep most of the steel, and it’s a lot of heavy lifting and moving things around with the crane. It isn't a clean job, and our clothes usually show it by the time we close up. We’ve got a small space where we sit to handle the money and the bills, but we spend more time outside than in. People from the nearby farms and small workshops come to us when they need iron rods or sheets for their own builds. We know most of our customers by their first names because they’ve been coming to this spot for years. The sun can be really brutal in the summer, making the metal too hot to touch without thick gloves. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just rely on people knowing we are here. If someone needs a specific cut, we try our best to get it done right there. It’s a simple life, really. We wake up, open the gates, move some steel, and talk to the neighbors. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy enough that the weeks seem to fly by. We aren't looking to be the biggest, just reliable and present for the local tradesmen.
