Big Beverages

Out here on Ghatikia Road, it stays pretty busy with people heading toward the hospital or moving through Kalinga Vihar. Big Beverages is located at Hig 446, and it’s a decent-sized space for what we do. Being near Loyola Hospital means we get a lot of families and visitors who are just looking for a quick bottle of something. We spend a lot of time unloading crates and making sure the shelves aren't empty. The building itself is okay, though the paint is peeling a bit near the bottom from all the rain we get. We have a lot of different types of drinks stacked up, sometimes so high it's hard to see over them. It’s mostly just us two or three guys working here, trying to keep track of what’s in the back room and what’s in the coolers. The light in the back flickers sometimes, and we keep meaning to fix it, but there's always more stock to move. Subudhipur is a growing area, so things have changed a lot since we first opened our doors. It’s loud because of the road, but you get used to it after a week or so. We don't do much marketing or anything; people just see the sign and stop their bikes. We're just trying to keep the drinks cold and the inventory moving so nothing sits too long. It is a lot of physical work but we like being part of the neighborhood.
