If you walk down the Main Road in Naveen Nagar, you’ll find Ssd Kirana And General Store right near the old police station. Being close to a landmark like that helps people find us, though most of our customers are just the folks living in the nearby lanes of Bhopal. The shop is usually a bit of a mess because we are always unloading new crates of oil or sacks of grain. I spend my mornings checking the inventory and making sure the spices are displayed where people can see them easily. It gets quite busy in the evenings when everyone is coming home from work and realizes they don't have enough milk or sugar for their night tea. The 462010 area has changed a lot over the years, with more traffic and newer buildings, but the way people shop for their daily groceries stays about the same.
