Sikandar General Store

Our store is located at Plot No- 475 on Station Road in Nehru Nagar. Being so close to the station means there is always a crowd of people passing by. People are always rushing to catch a train or just getting home from work in the city. We are also quite near the Masjid, so we see a lot of people coming and going for their daily prayers. The shop is a general store, so we stock a bit of everything for the house. It’s a small space, and we’ve squeezed in as many shelves as possible to hold the stock. Sometimes it feels a bit tight when more than three people are inside at once. We’ve got snacks, soap, notebooks, and all those little things you forget you need until you see them on the shelf. I usually sit near the front door to greet people and handle the cash. My brother handles the stock in the back and does the heavy lifting. It’s a lot of work keeping everything organized. The noise from the trains is something we don't even notice anymore, it’s just the background sound of our day. We don't have any big signs or posters outside. Just the name above the door that’s been there since we opened. We stay open pretty late because that's when most people are heading home from the station. It’s a busy life, but it pays the bills.
