People know us as Shree Kishan Babulal Agrawal Kirana Merchant. Our location is Shop No 8 in Azad Market, which is a place we have been for a long time now. Being right by Jumerati Gate and Gud Bazaar means it is always noisy and crowded outside our front door. You can hear the wooden carts rattling and people shouting all through the day. Our shop is filled with heavy bags of dal, rice, and different kinds of spices that make the air smell very strong. It is not a big fancy place with bright lights or glass windows. We have old wooden counters that have become very smooth over the years from so many people leaning on them while they wait. Sometimes the floor gets a bit dusty from all the foot traffic coming in from the market, but we try to sweep it when there is a quiet moment. My family runs the whole place and we mostly just handle everything ourselves without extra help. We get up early to open the heavy iron shutters and stay until late in the evening. Regulars come in to get their monthly supplies and we often catch up on neighborhood talk while weighing things out. We do not have a website or anything modern like that. If you need some good quality grains or just a simple packet of salt, you just walk in. It is a plain life of measuring out goods and packing them in paper bags for our neighbors in Bhopal.
