Shree Balaji General Shop

Situated in the Ekta Market area of Kamala Nagar, our shop is a familiar spot for many people living around Kotra in Bhopal. We are pretty close to the Neharu Nagar Pnt Road, so we get a lot of foot traffic from people walking to the main road. The shop is packed with all sorts of things, from cold drinks in the cooler to notebooks and pens for the students. Bhopal summers are no joke, so we try to keep the drinks as cold as possible for anyone stopping by. It’s a small space, and sometimes it feels like the walls are closing in when we have a lot of customers at once. I usually spend the quiet hours reorganizing the shelves or checking the expiry dates on the milk and bread. We don’t have a professional marketing team or anything like that; it is just us behind the counter every day. The floor is a bit uneven and the paint is peeling in some corners, but it doesn't stop people from coming in for their daily needs. We see a lot of regular faces, and I usually have a quick chat with them about the local news while I’m bagging their items. It’s a busy, somewhat messy, but very real part of the local market life. We just try to keep the basics in stock so no one has to go too far for a pack of biscuits or a bottle of water.
