We’re based in Shop No 34 of the Brijwashni Complex, right here in T T Nagar in Bhopal. The Anjalik Hotel is close by, so we get a few people who are staying there and need something small they didn't pack. It’s a busy area and the complex usually has a lot going on. Our shop is just a straightforward place for general goods. We don’t have any fancy displays. It’s mostly just shelves stacked high with whatever we could get from the distributors this week. The lighting inside isn't the brightest, but it works for what we need. Dealing with the change is probably the hardest part of the day because everyone seems to have big notes. Bhopal summers are tough, and the shop can get a bit stuffy, but we manage. We’ve seen many shops in this complex come and go, but we’ve stuck around at Shop 34. It’s mostly just the two of us working here, making sure things don’t get too cluttered. We get the usual crowd of office workers and locals during the evening rush. It’s a simple life, just selling things and talking to the people who walk through the door. We don't really have any big plans, just keeping the shop open and the shelves mostly full for whoever needs something. Sometimes we sit outside on a stool when it’s slow, just watching the traffic go by on the main road. It’s a living and we’re used to it.
