Nikki Kirana Storess

The shop is located right at Shabban Chouraha in Jahangirabad. If you find the Pop Up Hair Salon, you've pretty much found us. Bhopal gets quite warm during the day, so we spend a lot of time just keeping the place cool and tidying up the bags of rice and lentils. Nikki Kirana Storess has been part of this street for a while. It’s not a huge place, but we manage to fit a lot of stuff inside. Most of the day is spent talking to people from the neighborhood who stop by for a packet of milk or some sugar. Sometimes the traffic at the crossroads gets really loud, especially with all the horns honking, but we’re used to it by now. We don't do anything special, just keep the basic groceries that families need for their kitchens. Usually, we're up early to take deliveries. The floor gets a bit dusty because of all the people walking in and out from the main road, so sweeping is a constant job. We try to keep things where they belong, but during the rush hour, it gets a little chaotic. It’s just a regular kirana store. People know they can come here when they run out of salt or tea leaves. It’s nice being part of the daily life here in Jahangirabad. We know most of the kids who come in for sweets after school. It’s just steady work, day in and day out. There’s always another bag to open or a shelf to restock.
