Neelesh Kirana Store

I spend most of my days here at Neelesh Kirana Store, which is just a small place at shop 6/19 on the Main Road in Subhash Nagar. It is very close to Mehta Market, so the whole area stays pretty busy with people and vehicles from early morning. Bhopal can get really dusty, and being right on the road means I have to sweep the front of the shop quite often. The shelves are filled with everything from bags of rice and different kinds of lentils to small items like matches and soap. I don't have a big team or anything, it is just me and sometimes a family member helping out when things get crowded. The building is older, and the wooden counter has some scratches on it from years of moving heavy sacks around. I know most of the people who live around here by their names. They come in for their daily milk or bread and stay for a minute to talk about the weather or the local news. It is not a fancy supermarket, just a regular shop where we keep the things people need for their kitchens. Sometimes the fan makes a bit of a clicking noise, but it still works. I spend a lot of time checking the stock and writing lists of what we need to buy from the bigger wholesalers to keep the jars full. It is a simple routine that repeats every day until I close up.
