Monish General Store

Monish General Store is over in Jahangirabad, Bhopal. You can find us at Shop No 103, which is right near the square on the main road. The address says 'Near Squear' and 'Main Roar' on some papers, but it’s just the busy street where everyone passes by. Being in Jahangirabad means there is always something happening outside. The noise from the square can be quite loud during the middle of the day. Inside the shop, it’s a bit quieter. I have shelves lining every wall from the floor to as high as I can reach. There are many different items piled up, and sometimes it looks a bit messy, but I know where everything is. The floor is concrete and shows some wear from all the feet walking over it. Bhopal gets hot, so I usually have a small fan pointed right at the counter. People stop by on their way to other parts of the city. I spend a lot of time talking to the delivery drivers who bring the crates of goods. Dealing with the stock takes up most of my morning. By the time the afternoon comes, I’m usually just waiting for the evening rush. It’s a simple life running a store on the main road. I don't use any fancy systems, just my eyes and a bit of common sense to keep things going. When it's time to close, I make sure the locks are tight on Shop No 103 and check the lights. It feels good to head home after a long day.
