Manohar General Store

Down on Kotwali Road in Bhopal, things are always moving. Manohar General Store is located at H. No. 89/1, right in the heart of the Kotwali area. It’s an old building, and we’ve seen the street change over the years. The traffic outside is constant, with rickshaws and bikes buzzing past our door all day long. We sell a bit of everything that a household might need. It could be spices, or cleaning supplies, or maybe some stationery. The shop is often dusty because of the road work and the wind, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the jars. We don't have a big staff, just family helping out when things get busy. Bhopal gets quite hot in the summer, so we keep the fan going, even if it doesn't do much. People come in to escape the sun for a minute while they buy their groceries. We’ve got stacks of goods everywhere, sometimes it feels a bit cramped. But it works for us. We know where every single item is hidden, even if it doesn't look like it to a stranger. It’s a busy life on Kotwali Road, and we are just here every day, opening the shutters in the morning and closing them once it gets dark. No big fuss about it, just the usual routine of a neighborhood shop in the city.
