Mahaveer General Store

You can find Mahaveer General Store over in the Ashoka Garden area of Bhopal. We are situated on 80 Feet Road, which is quite a landmark around here, especially since we are close to the main Chowk. It’s a noisy spot because of the traffic, but that means people are always passing by. We keep all the usual general items, from soaps to snacks and school supplies for the kids. The shop isn't very large, so we have to stack things all the way to the ceiling. I usually have to use a small ladder to reach the stuff on the top shelves. There is no fancy office or computer system here. We just use a basic calculator and keep things simple. The floor is made of old tiles that have seen better days. During the rainy season, we have to be careful about the dampness because of the location. People in Ashoka Garden know us well. They stop by to chat for a few minutes while buying their daily bread or milk. It feels like a small community even though Bhopal is a big city. My father started this place, and I just keep it running the same way he did. We don't spend money on advertising or anything like that. The word of mouth from the neighbors is enough to keep us going. We open the gates early and stay until the dinner hour. It is honest work and it keeps the family fed.
