Maa Gori Kirana

Maa Gori Kirana sits at 142-C Sector in Indrapuri, right here in Bhopal. We are quite close to Gopal Sweets, which is a big landmark around here. Because of that, we get a lot of people who are just passing by after buying their snacks. The shop is usually full of the smell of spices and grains. I spend most of my day weighing out things like flour or sugar for the ladies in the neighborhood. It’s a busy life, and my hands are usually covered in a bit of white dust from the flour bags. We have a lot of plastic jars lined up on the higher shelves filled with candies and biscuits. Sometimes the light in the back of the shop flickers a bit, but we’ve gotten used to it. Indrapuri is a lively place, and we feel like we are right in the middle of everything. We don't have any fancy signs or big displays. It’s just a practical place to get your kitchen supplies. I usually keep a radio playing some old songs in the background to pass the time when it's quiet. My son helps out sometimes after school, moving the heavier boxes around for me. We just try to make sure we have the basics in stock so nobody leaves empty-handed. It’s a simple living, but it keeps us busy.
