Kailash Kirana General Store

Started the shop years ago on J K Road. It is just Shop No 223. We stay busy near the Narmada Water Tank. Most days start early before the sun gets too hot in Bharat Nagar. We have all the basic stuff like flour, dal, and soaps. It is not a big fancy place. Just a regular kirana store. People come in with lists written on scraps of paper. Sometimes the kids from the neighborhood run in for small candies or a packet of biscuits. We try to keep things organized but sometimes boxes pile up in the corner because we get a lot of stock at once. It gets dusty because of the road traffic. Bhopal is like that in this part of town. We know most people by their faces, even if we forget names sometimes. My brother helps out in the afternoons when I need a break. The shelves are wooden and a bit old now, but they hold the weight. We don't have fancy lights or neon signs. Just a few fans to keep the air moving during the afternoon heat. If something is out of stock, we just tell people to come back tomorrow after the delivery truck arrives. It is a quiet life in many ways, just counting change and weighing things out for people. The Narmada water tank is a good landmark for people finding us if they are new. We have been here so long that we don't really think about it much. Just another day in the shop. People talk about the weather while waiting for their items.
