Janta Kirana And General Stores

Janta Kirana has been a part of T T Nagar for a long time. It’s located in a spot where a lot of people pass by on their way to work. We keep the store stocked with all the basic groceries and general items you’d expect. There’s no big fancy layout here; we just stack the boxes where they fit and keep the loose items in glass jars on the counter. Bhopal has its own pace, and we just follow it. We open up early and don't close until late in the evening. There’s always someone coming in for a packet of biscuits or some cooking oil. We don't use any high-tech systems to manage the shop. It’s all done by memory and a simple ledger book. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when three or four people are all asking for different things at once. We just handle them one by one. The shelves are a bit old and the paint is peeling in some corners, but the food is fresh and that’s what matters to the people who buy from us. We don’t talk about missions or visions here. We just want to sell our goods and make sure the customers have what they need for the next meal. It’s hard work being on your feet all day, especially in the summer heat. But it’s what we do. We like the chatter and the familiar faces of the neighborhood.
