You can find Guru Kripa Kirana Store at shop 7 in Arera Colony, Bhopal. We are situated right opposite the Raymond Showroom, which is a big landmark around here. Even though we are near the Main 10 Number Markets, our shop feels like a small part of the neighborhood. Arera Colony is a nice area, and we have been serving the people here for quite a while. The shop is packed with shelves from the floor to the ceiling. We have to use a small wooden ladder to reach the things at the top, like the bigger boxes of detergent or extra cooking oil. I spend a lot of time just talking to the neighbors who stop by for a packet of biscuits or some tea leaves. It is not a place with air conditioning or bright neon lights, just a couple of tube lights that sometimes flicker. The morning time is always the busiest when the milk delivery arrives and everyone wants their supplies before starting their day. I keep a ledger for the monthly accounts because many people here prefer to pay all at once at the end of the month. It is a lot of work to keep everything in order, but it is what we do. The counter is usually covered with small items that people grab at the last minute, like chewing gum or batteries, making the space feel very lived-in.
