Eicher tractors (A Unit o tafe motors & tractors Ltd.)

This place is right at Plot No. 1 in Sector D of the Industrial Area in Mandideep. It’s a huge site. Being Eicher tractors, we have a lot of engines and parts moving through here every day. It’s a unit of Tafe motors and tractors now. The Raisen district is pretty industrial, so we are surrounded by other factories. It’s a long walk from the gate to the main workshop. We have a lot of tractors in various stages of assembly. There’s a constant sound of wrenches clicking and air tools buzzing. It’s a busy atmosphere. People are wearing work boots and uniforms that usually have a bit of grease on them. We don’t really have a fancy waiting room. If you come by, you’ll see people actually working on the floor. The heat in Mandideep can be tough in the summer, especially inside the sheds. We try to keep the air moving with big fans. We deal with a lot of local farmers and suppliers. Most of us have been here for years and know the machines inside out. It’s a lot of routine. Check the parts, fix the gears, move the unit. We aren’t interested in making things look pretty for a catalog. We just want the tractors to run right. It’s a solid place to work if you don’t mind getting dirty. The shift ends, we go home, and we come back to do it again tomorrow.
