Deepak Kumar Roopchand General Shop

We’ve been here at 15 Hanuman Ganj for quite a while now. The shop is right in the middle of Jumerati, which gets busy around noon most days. Deepak and the rest of us keep things moving as much as we can. It’s a typical general shop where you find bits and pieces for the house. People from around Bhopal come by when they need something quick on their way home. We try to keep the shelves stocked, but sometimes things run out if the delivery is late. The building isn't fancy, just a regular spot on the street. It can get dusty with the traffic outside, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. Most of the regulars know us by name, and we know what they usually pick up. It's mostly just us handling the counter and making sure the change is right. We don't have a big website or anything, just this physical space where we spend most of our daylight hours. Dealing with the heat in summer is a bit much, but the fans help some. If you’re walking through Hanuman Ganj, you’ll see our sign. It isn't anything special to look at, but it gets the job done. We just open up in the morning, sweep the front, and wait for the first customer to come in. That’s pretty much the daily routine here in Bhopal for us.
