B R Kirana

We have been here at Kamla Park for a good while now. It is just a small shop where we keep things like dal, rice, and snacks that people need for their kitchens every day. Dealing with the neighbors in Shamla Hills is how we spend most of our time. Sometimes the stock arrives late or we run out of something popular, but we try to keep the shelves filled as much as we can. It is not a fancy place, just a regular kirana shop with dusty shelves and bags of flour sitting on the floor. My family helps out behind the counter when things get busy in the evenings. We know most of the people who walk through the door by their first names. If you live around Bhopal, you probably pass by us often. There is always something to do, like checking the dates on packets or sweeping the front step. It gets quite crowded when everyone finishes work and stops by for milk or sugar. We do not have a big team, just a couple of us making sure everything stays organized enough to find what people ask for. It is a bit loud sometimes with the traffic from the road nearby. We just keep going, day after day, making sure the local households have their basic supplies. It is hard work but it keeps us busy and connected to the street. B R Kirana is just a part of the daily life here.
