Running Akash Anand Photography out of Maharana Pratap Nagar keeps me on my toes most weeks. This neighborhood has a lot of energy, and there’s always something worth pointing a camera at if you're looking. I don't go for that overly polished or fake look you see in those expensive magazines. I much prefer things to look real and natural. Whether it’s a small family gathering at someone's house or a local event on the street, I just try to blend into the background and take pictures that tell the story of the day. My office in Maharana Pratap Nagar is where I spend a lot of my time looking at computer screens and sorting through files after a long shoot. It's a lot of tedious work that people don't usually see. Most of my clients are people from around here who heard about me from a friend or a cousin. I don't do any big advertisements or fancy posters. I think if you do a decent job for someone, word eventually gets around the neighborhood. I’ve lived in this part of town for many years, so I know the best spots for outdoor shots where the light hits just right between the buildings in the late afternoon. It’s a one-man show mostly, so if you call the number, you’re talking to me directly. I like the independence of working for myself. Sometimes the weather doesn't cooperate, but you just have to adapt and keep clicking.
