Aai Kirana

Aai Kirana is our small shop in Harshwardhan Nagar, Bhopal. We’ve been serving the local folks here for quite a while now. The space is filled with bags of grain and stacks of soap bars. It’s a bit cramped because we try to fit as much as we can into the room. You’ll find everything from hair oil to pickling spices if you look closely enough. The walls are painted a pale color that has faded over the years. We don't have a computer or anything like that, just a simple notebook where I keep track of what we need to order. The morning rush is always the busiest part of the day when everyone is trying to get things for breakfast. I mostly handle the heavy lifting and making sure the stock is rotated. The neighborhood is fairly quiet, except for the occasional scooter or the sound of kids playing nearby. We don't really have any big sales or promotions. People come here because we are close to their homes and we have the brands they like. It feels good to be part of the street life here in Bhopal. Sometimes a customer will stay for ten minutes just to tell me a story about their family. That’s just how it goes in a small kirana store like this. We are just here to provide the basics and keep things moving along.
