Vardhman Traders

Vardhman Traders is right here in Bhopalganj, and if you know the area, you know how busy it gets. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy. Most people find us because they’ve been coming here for years or they heard about us from a neighbor. The shop is filled with various goods stacked up in crates and sacks. Every day is pretty much the same routine of opening the locks, sweeping the front step, and checking the inventory. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to suppliers or trying to figure out why a shipment is late. It gets frustrating sometimes, especially when the weather is bad and everything slows down. The walls are a bit stained from years of use, and the ceiling fan wobbles a little when it’s on the highest setting. We usually eat our lunch right at the counter between customers. It’s not a fancy life, just moving stock and writing out receipts on those carbon-copy pads. Sometimes we have a bit of a laugh with the delivery guys, but mostly we’re just focused on getting through the pile of work on the desk. When it gets dark, we turn off the lights, pull the shutters down, and listen to the lock click into place. It’s a quiet end to a long, repetitive day in the market, but we come back tomorrow and do it again.
