Jay Jagannath Bricks

We set up Jay Jagannath Bricks out in Ganiyari Village. It’s near the Bhilai 3 Post Office area in Durg District. If you are heading towards Bhilai Public School, you will likely pass right by us. Making bricks is what we know how to do best. It’s a dirty job with a lot of fire and clay involved. We have a crew of workers who stay on the site and help with the molding and the baking. The kiln stays hot for days when we are running a full batch. You can see the smoke from a distance. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing person. Most of our customers are just neighbors building a wall or contractors working on small houses in the village. We keep the bricks in big stacks and hope the rain doesn't ruin the ones that are still drying. My desk is just a wooden table in a small shed where I keep the ledgers. It’s noisy and dusty here most of the time. We work hard to get the orders ready on time but sometimes the weather has other plans. Life in Durg is mostly about hard work like this. We just keep the fires going and keep making more bricks as long as there is demand. It’s a simple life and it keeps us busy from dawn till dusk. We don't need much more than that.
