Nirma Chemicals Ltd is out here at the Bhavnagar Chemical Complex in Kalatalav. It is a big area mostly filled with factories and warehouses. If you are coming from the city, it takes a while to reach us. The landscape is mostly flat with the chemical plants taking up most of the horizon. We spend our days here in Kalatalav handling the different tasks that come with being in a chemical complex. It is not the most beautiful place to work because it is all pipes and metal tanks, but it is where the work happens. The dust from the roads often gets on everything, so we are always cleaning our desks. We have a small canteen where we all gather for tea and lunch, talking about our families or the cricket scores. The sun can be really harsh in Bhavnagar, so we appreciate the shade when we can find it. We don't have any fancy marketing people here, just staff who know the routine and keep things moving. Most of us have been working here for years and we know every corner of the site. It’s a very practical kind of environment. We focus on the daily numbers and making sure everything is running like it should. You won't find any polished hallways or decorative plants in our office, just the stuff we need to get the job done right.
