P. R. Shah

Located over by the Rayon Mill on Nari Road, P. R. Shah is right in the middle of Kumbharwada. It’s an old industrial area, so there’s always dust and the sound of trucks coming in and out at all hours. The mill itself has been there forever, and we’re just a part of that landscape now. Most of our mornings are spent dealing with whatever stuff came in the night before. It’s not a quiet place, that’s for sure. The road outside can be a total mess when it rains, making it hard for anyone to get anywhere quickly. We don't have a big office with air conditioning or fancy chairs. It’s mostly just metal desks, stacks of papers, and the smell of the nearby works. People stop by, have a quick chat about the weather or the traffic on Nari Road, and then get back to it. We’ve seen the area change a bit over the years, but the basic routine stays the same. The sun hits the building hard in the summer months, so we keep the ceiling fans going all day. It’s just a regular workplace where people show up and do their jobs. Nothing special to see, just a lot of hard work happening in an old part of town. We’ve got a small crew and we all know each other’s business. We keep the kettle going for tea throughout the afternoon to stay awake.
